Python Software Engineer

We are looking for a talented and experienced Python Software Engineer to join our team in Latin America. This team is responsible for developing, integrating, and operating the systems that power marketing channels. You will participate in design, planning, development, release, monitoring, and overall delivery of web, mobile, and application projects. This role requires creating high-performance, highly available, and stable features to support large scale customer and business interactions daily. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain scalable and reliable microservices

• Design and optimize databases (indexes, partitioning, query tuning)

• Implement and optimize APIs, focusing on connection pooling, async operations, and error handling

• Collaborate on projects using version control systems (preferably Git)

• Participate in trunk-based development and CI/CD pipelines

• Manage infrastructure using Terraform

• Develop and manage AWS Lambda functions, optimizing memory/time limits

• Integrate AWS Lambda with API Gateway when needed

• Write efficient, maintainable Python code with proper type hinting and structure

• Conduct unit testing using frameworks like pytest, unittest, nosetest, or doctest

• Contribute to release management and enhance DevOps/CI/CD practices

Workplace: Remote, Latin America

Must Have Skills:

• Extensive experience with microservice development

• Strong fundamentals in database design (RDMS, NoSQL, OLAP, etc.)

• Experience in API design and optimization

• Familiarity with trunk-based development and Git

• Solid understanding of modern Python (3.10+):Type hinting, Memory management, Efficient iteration

• Knowledge of virtual environment management (poetry, pipenv, virtualenv, venv, or conda)

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform

• In-depth understanding of AWS Lambda performance tuning

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, etc.)

• Familiarity with AWS API Gateway integration

• Bash scripting and Linux skills
